Stephen Köblös Biography

Steve’s father, Csaba Köblös, immigrated to the United States from Hungary, where he met and married Steve’s mother, Lenora. Steve was born to Csaba & Nora in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and shortly after his birth the family moved to Palo Alto, California.

He developed a love for nature and the outdoors early in his life as the family loved to spend vacations & weekends hiking the gorgeous Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, Yosemite National Park, and Lake Tahoe areas. This passion to spend his free time in nature evolved into a fascination in photography over 40 years ago. He quickly became the family vacation photographer, taking his first class in photography in high school.

After junior college in California, Steve moved to Boulder, Colorado to attend C.U. where he studied geology and fell in love with the Rocky Mountains. He has climbed 53 of Colorado's 14,000+ foot peaks, and hopes to finish hiking the nearly 500 miles of the Colorado Trail in the next year.

He spends most of his time hiking and photographing the awesome beauty of the great outdoors. As a passionate lover of nature, his heart’s desire is to capture the personality and strength of distinctive trees, and the beauty and often intense displays that nature provides in storms, mountain landscapes, waterfalls, wildflowers, clouds, sunrises and sunsets. His goal is to share the wonder and beauty of nature with others. We print and sell only our own work and photographic studies.

Steve and his wife DebraLee have been married for nearly 30 years and have two children, and four grandchildren.

They currently reside in the rural community of Elizabeth, CO.
